OK thanks, we'll look to do it now and get things done right from as near to the outset as possible.

If I lift the lid and find he's already nesting/asleep on top of the current potty, assumedly wait until he's not there to do the re-jig.

Would you remove the tube regardless, or only if it's being used 'inappropriately'?
