50/50. Half the food mix in the bowl and the other half sprinkled around the cage.
A hamster wouldn't starve because they have to forage for their food because finding food to add to their hoards is what hamsters do.
Additionals like millet sprays, whimzees, hamster herbs, shrimp cookies, mealworms etc do enrich hamsters lives so are always welcome.
Just keep away from anything fruity or honey based because dwarfs are prone to diabetes.
