Default Re: hamster acting different

I’ve had this before with my previous hamster. When I went to my mums with her when moving flats and when we had a leak and had to be out in emergency accommodation. It was sad but kind of hilarious since she moved in slo-mo, every step she took she stopped before the next.

It’s a new area, new smell, she has basically gone to the state where you have to retame her since it’s a new location. I do think hamsters are incredibly good at sensing things as well and I think mine went slo-mo because she sensed dogs which she’s never been around before.

At my mums she started to speed up again but I left before progressing, if you can avoid it, it’s best to not move your hamster around as much as possible as it can be stressful. If you calm her down with where she is now and then go back she’s then got to adjust again to the old place. If it’s only for a few days I’d recommend in the future to try and just let someone take care of her.
