Some friends of ours had a rabbit and they had this cage in the living room on top of a piece of furniture behind the sofa. And they’d let the rabbit out for free roaming in the living room under supervision. It even learned a few tricks. That might help the rabbit become toilet trained so when it’s out it just plays a bit. Seems like a good compromise between a hutch and a playpen.
