Default Re: Rodney

Poor little Rodney is not happy after his recent evacuation to a strange house due to a crisis caused by a pantry moth.

He's back in his own habitat now but there is still a lot of his stuff missing awaiting delivery of replacements.

Rodney voiced his displeasure in a few chirping conversations and has become quite clingy with me. I'm as upset as he is and feel very guilty about my drastic actions. All explained in my pantry moths thread.

I was a bit surprised to see how attached Rodney is to his home. He went into panic mode in the spare cage and pouched food until i worried that he may explode then tried to get out and climb on to me. He refused to sleep in the spare house which is the same as his two houses and slept in a corner under a lot of Kaytee.
I had never seen him sleep outside a house.

Soon as his cage was deep cleaned and with one of his houses installed, i moved him back. He wasn't happy with his temporary set up but at least he slept in his house.

First job tomorrow after work will be to sort Rodney's home.

Hamsters really are so different in their personalities. When i had to move Betsy for the same reason a few months ago things were so different. Betsy wasn't stressed at all by the move to a spare cage. As long as she has two wheels and plenty of food she doesn't seem to care where she is.
