I think we all prefer what we get used to
We always go for boys, some people always go for girls. I think it helps to find one that is a completely different colouring from your last hamster and if you prefer girls then that's right for you. Our first boy was incredibly lazy lol. But he did used to go to sleep on you. Not all boys are like that though. Our second one was maverick and very active.
