I'd give Pip more time to settle in and then start taming.

Monty came right up to the front of his cage this morning when he heard us talk and Rodney was running around on the floor. Last night i watched him looking into neighbour Rory's cage. Not that Rory took any notice. He was too busy munching his veggies.
He's grown in confidence since i've started getting him out of his cage once or twice a week. Took some convincing though. I had to catch him at first because he run away but eventually he must have realized that nothing bad is going to happen to him. Building trust like with every hamster.
