You could make a new den maybe, and save some money. Or use a cardboard one or shoebox house? I know what you mean about a new wheel or platform though. If you get a platform that's smooth wood, you could plastikote it and then re use it for another hamster. I find that works well as they can be easily washed or disinfected and left to air then - so I paint all sides, including the thin sides.

Getzoo do some very good platforms in two heights (21cm tall for deeper substrate and about 15cm tall for lower substrate). They're not cheap but they're easily plastikoted.

They do left and right handed ones as well, depending on where you want to put it in the tank. And smaller and larger ones.

Hi Serendipity.

Aww I read about Charlie when I first joined here a few years ago. I'm sure by now Bonnie would have met Charlie and they are now friends on the bridge.

Thank you for the link to the website. It's actually fairly reasonably priced - especially if I get everything from there at once. As I've got a terrarium, I have been looking for a water bottle holder for ages, although I am still thinking about using a bowl still. I used to use the Living World Water bottle holder, but for some reason it's been discontinued and so I'm glad to have another alternative...even if I do still end up going for a bowl.
