Urgent advice needed: End of life
Good morning everyone
My hamster is coming to the end of her life. She's almost 2, I think it's just her time. I've been preparing for it to come.
I woke up this morning and it was clear she hadn't come out of her nest, I thought she had passed, but when I looked she was still alive, awake but listless. She doesn't seem in pain.
What I want to know is, is it kinder to let her pass naturally in familiar surroundings, or take her to a vet, a potentially stressful journey, to be put to sleep?
With past hamsters I feel that perhaps I made the wrong decision by not putting them to sleep. Please can you let me know what you think is best?
The vets don't open for another 3 hours but I can call when they do and try to get an appointment today if that is what's best.
Thank you
