I have hamsters living next to each other without any issues.
The dwarfs and Robos don't bother about each other, no matter whether they are male or female and both our Syrians are male.
What does cause problems are female foster Syrians because both the male Syrians will react to a female in the house, even if their cages are across the room.
I have to avoid fostering female Syrians because their presence upsets the boys and it takes them a couple of weeks to settle down again after the female has moved out.

What gender are your hamsters?
