When it gets smelly. I'm guided by my nose so find it hard to put a time frame on it.

FYI, i also used to take the whole sand container out to sieve all the sand until one day it clicked and i started to use a small sieve to remove the clumps of wee. I'm glad that i'm not the only one, lol.
