Within a few days he'll probably be thundering in it. Sometimes if they're not sure what to do with it you can put a treat in the wheel each night so they go there to get the treat and start running in it.

He'll probably do it more at night when you're asleep.
He knows what to do, I've watched him running on it for 8 minutes before, stopping each time to look up and check out whats going on for about 10 seconds and continues to run. But during each spurt he like stops and just lays down right on his wheel like he's collapsed or something. Is that normal and he's a lazy hamster (or is possibly tired and regaining some energy for like 5-10 minutes) or is it a sign of an issue?
