Default Farewell sweet Edwina

Our sweet little Edwina died in my hands tonight.

Edwina has been ill for a few months, probably lymphoma and the vet advised to let her live out her life.
A couple of times i thought that Edwina was heading for the exit to the rainbow bridge but she always picked up again when i adjusted her medication. Only a couple of days ago Edwina was free roaming around the room and earlier today she lapped up her medication and sat on her green ledge washing.

Then tonight she sat on her house and her breathing was laboured and her eyes looked dull. I knew then and took her out, wrapped her in a flannel and held her in my hands, talking to her softly, stroking her and crying because the end was near. She looked up, took two deep gasps, curled up and stopped breathing.

Edwina is resting in her home overnight and she looks so peaceful. We'll bury her tomorrow in the hamster cemetery in the garden.

Her life was happy but she was too young to die.
Edwina was only 18 months old.
