Default Re: Hospital cage ideas

So conclusions - I am not sure there is an ideal size for a hospital cage/tank! I think anything larger and he would have been far too active and damaging his wound/pulling his stitches. But smaller like the duna multy he spends a lot of time hanging from the roof bars trying to escape - also a bit active for his wound and stitches. But we're on day 3 now so hopefully the wound will be a bit more secure now. I think he'd be trying to escape whatever hospital cage he was in because it's unfamiliar and no wheel. Seems a bit mean limiting his movement in the smaller cage but it's for his own good in the long run!

I let him out each night but even then he's a bit too active (more so than usual) and being a bit gung ho around his wound area.

So it's hard work with a post-op hamster! Hopefully by his post op check after 5 days he can have his wheel back and be safe around regular cage contents.
