The Alexander is a great cage but I think it depends on the personality of the hamster. I had the Barney cage (which has the same small front doors) and that was fine for one Syrian who was quite gregarious and would come and sit at the door to come out. But our current syrian is more docile and it's hard getting them out or doing anything in the cage with the small front doors.

So although the plaza isn't perfect, it's about the only 100cm cage with a big front door.

The two Syrian hamster I have, do have a nervous personality. The new hamster do have the plaza cage. I have one more plaza cage in a box.
