I get you, I don't think I could cope with a pink cage
I used to hate pink and now I actually will wear something in that colour sometimes!!!! I don't know what happened!
I think the size of a hospital cage depends on what is wrong with the hamster, Twinkle stayed in the savic plaza after his concussion/contusion as he was just too poorly to move, although I took all shelving and wheel out. He wasn't climbing up bars. but if a hamster has had an operation I can understand they may still may be a bit more active you just don't want them climbing and falling off anything.
