Hamster Central - View Single Post - Hamster is rarely out from under his bedding.

My hamster is rarely out at and given time. I stay up pretty late into the night often and dont really see him. He only really comes out to eat and drink a couple times a day. The reason this is odd is because a week ago he would run on his wheel all night. The only thing that has changes since then was me spot cleaning the cage and adding up to 6 in of bedding to his cage. I got him 4 weeks ago and when I transferred him into his current cage he loved it and was so active. I have been looking for reasoning and saw it could be because of other animals in the room which I have a dog in my room 80% of the time but that did not effect him when he would run for hours before.
