Keeping a hoard is perfectly normal because that is what hamsters do. Their hoards and nests are very important to them and best left undisturbed.
Have you checked the water bottle? Sometimes they leak or drip and bowls can get knocked over.
What kind of hamster is Wendy and how old is she?
