Default Re: Are holes drilled in the lid of a bin cage a suitable form of ventilation?

Thank you very much Ria P and LunaTheHamster1 for the welcome and the advice. The welfare and happiness of the life of the hamster is my top priority so it's good to know what would and wouldn't provide that.

The option of asking a handyperson to do the work is a good suggestion to consider thank you.

With the rectangular cutout for the window, has anyone had any problems with their hamster chewing along the perimeter of the plastic around this opening? I was wondering if it could work it's way through the side of the bin if it had a raw edge to work on.

Many thanks
