Hi, I'm new at being a parent to my little Syrian hamster

so would appreciate any advice on this matter. My hamster pees and poos where he sleeps but when he is up and running around his enclosure he uses his potty corner. My concern is about him peeing in his sleeping area - I've heard that this could lead to health issues. What can I do to help potty train him properly so he only pees in his potty corner and not in his house? Also, I clean out his poo and soiled bedding from his house once every 3 days - is that too much cleaning?
