I just submitted an application for the hamster I mentioned in my last post and I am very excited! She's a syrian hamster (I think...the one photo of her only shows her head, but she definitely has a syrian type face) and according to the owner who surrendered her, she's two years old. Her name is Bertha, which I probably won't change because I think it's befitting an old lady like her
I've got my 800 square inch DIY all ready and I really hope she likes it -- it's a good old cage, but I haven't gotten to use it yet since my first hamster, Egg, decided it was way too small for her so she moved into an upgrade pretty quickly.
The shelter emphasized that they consider multiple applications for each animal, but I'm hopeful -- she's been there for more than two weeks now, which is longer than all the other hamsters I've seen come and go on Petfinder the last couple months. I really hope I'm able to give her a great however-much-longer she has. Wish me luck!
