Ponal is great - it doesn’t smell fumey. Doesn’t smell of much at all actually- if anything it smells a bit like copydex (if anyone remembers that). It sticks wood incredibly well. I got it because it’s what the Germans use - from their forums. Elmers school glue is safe abd I think Amazon sells it (or used to) but it’s not a wood glue.
