It can be good to start them in a smaller cage for taming and until they are less jittery. Quite a few people do that. The Zoozone 1 does need the lid meshing- the bar spacing is 2cm for guinea pigs. I haven’t had one but complaints used to be about the lid being a pain to open and close - jerky and noisy. So the standard duna multy was more popular - better lid and no meshing needed. Same size. But if you’ve already got a Zoozone 1 you’ll be used to the lid!

Detolf sounds great for an upgrade later.
