I use kaytee clean & cosy too, I’ve tried all sorts of substrate over the years & find it the least dusty, it’s soft but holds burrows fine.
Hemp varies a lot from one brand to another, some can be quite sharp & rough, the Hugro hemp is probably the best, I did use it for a while until I developed an allergy to it & the hams seemed happy with it.
