Default Re: Is A robo a Good Choice

Hi & welcome to the forum

As Luna said a robo may not be the best choice if you want a ham you can handle & have out of cage interaction with, they can be very tame but it’s not easy for someone with no hamster experience to always manage this so it may just be a watch pet rather than one you can interact with.
I started with Russian hamsters, they are small but not so small & quite fast but a lot easier to handle than a Robo & I have found them easy to tame & they mostly enjoy interacting & out of cage time.
I’ve never had a Syrian but bear in mind that you would need a fair amount of space for a large cage with a Syrian, around 100x50cm, I use cages that are around 80x50cm for my Russian & Chinese hams, a robo would also need the same kind of space.
Also remember all hams are very individual so some can be shyer or more interactive regardless of species.
