Default Hamster ‘Bleeding’

Age: 17months
Gender: F
Species: Hybrid Dwarf

5pm yesterday my hamster was in a plastic play tub I use to sit her in while she is out and give her treats etc. She was nibbling a piece of egg when I suddenly heard her spluttering. I looked up and she had ‘blood’ coming from her nose running all down her front. The ‘bleeding’ lasted for maybe a minute and then stopped.

I took her to the vet and he couldn’t see any visible reason for the ‘bleeding’ and suggested maybe she’d bumped her nose. Personally as she was right in front of me when she started ‘bleeding’ and I didn’t see her bump it I find that unlikely.

She was fine for the next 27 hours and then suddenly when getting food from her food bowl she started ‘bleeding’ from her nose again. It lasted no more than a minute again and stopped.

She is eating, drinking, tunnelling, running around her cage being her usual self, No weight loss yet.

She is making the occasional squeak (I can’t work out if they are coughs or sneezes) and she is shivering a little.

Has anyone had this happen before?

Anyone know what I can do to help her?
