But as you say you’re having difficulty finding the right diet just now. Can you access linseeds and hemp seeds? You should get virtually all the vitamins needed from these. Linseeds in particular work wonders for hair loss. I give a pinch each day on a separate dish and they get licked up. Bald patches can grow back completely within a few weeks. It is always assumed it is mites but there are other reasons for fur loss. Diet is one (if something is lacking) but they can also have a bit of a moult in hot weather.

When the Harry Hamster arrives that contains everything needed but you can still supplement with linseeds and hemp seeds.

I have twice had hamster hair grow back nice and thick just supplementing with linseeds and not only that it is lovely and thick and glossy!

Providing she is well enough in herself I would try linseeds and hemp seeds rather than multivitamins. A pinch of each on a separate dish (I put them in separate places on the dish as some days they will be more keen on one than the other).

Hemp seeds are supposed to contain all vitamins and minerals. Linseeds are more the oil vitamins like vitamin E.
Thank you! i will check for hempseeds and linseeds they will mostly be available for sure
Edit: Just realised linseeds are flax seeds, I give her linseeds every day ( a pinch ~ about ten seeds). I have ordered hempseeds , we should be getting it by tomorrow.

People think hamsters are vegetarian sometimes but they are actually omnivores and will happily eat meat or fish. Giving leftovers from our meals is fine providing it is just plaza in cooked chicken or beef - no sauces or flavourings etc and no spices. They will get some protein from pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds but not enough. You could also give a bit of scrambled or boiled egg, half a walnut or cashew but once or twice a week. Those also give good protein.

So maybe you could mix up your seed mix with some oats for now and supplement with the hemp and linseeds and some plain chicken, egg and a shelled plain nut or two. They really love fresh food supplements. I tend to only give chicken and fresh meat out of the cage - they tend to just eat a tiny bit. To avoid them hoarding any and it going off.
Yes , i give her a 1/6th of an egg twice a week, and sometimes switch it up with scrambled eggs. I am a vegetarian, so eggs and mealworms are as far as i can provide for her as of now.

Thanks Ria! the weekly injections were for mites - i asked the vet about it too, since the test came out negative. but we decided to go for the injections since her condition was worsening (she was itching a lot too). its been 4 weeks now, her fur is almost back to normal with the help of the injections and Myco Dermis Gel (applied on the patches once a day). Today was her final injection. wont be going back to the vet anymore. and they have suggested to use Beaphar multivitamins in the meantime - but this isnt available in my country, luckily it can be imported, but i'm going to wait it out and give her hemp/linseeds like @serendipity suggested, as her harry hamster feed should arrive by Monday.

Thanks for the responses both of you! <3
