I think the safety of the log will depend on the individual ham & it’s habits tbh, most of my Russians haven’t tended to move things like that with burrowing but some might, not sure about a robo, one of my Chinese has two quite big cork tunnels in her cage & I often can’t even find them so if you had a ham with those kind of burrowing habits maybe not quite so safe1

Thanks Cypher, I think it is about 4-5 cm deep. It's pretty hard for me to move, so should be ok, it is just very heavy.
I guess like anything I do with my cages I will observe what my hamster does when I get him/her and move anything that needs to be moved. I'm so excited. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will have a new hammy.
