Chipsi classic (non-scented) are safe; they're 70-75% spruce, which is a safe softwood.

I can't find any info as to what the vitakraft shavings are made of, so I would not use them. The only softwood shavings that we know to be safe are those that are majority spruce, or at least 70%), or 100% spruce.
