From what I know a skin scrape is where they scrape a small scraping of the first few layers of skin. They put it under a microscope to see if there are mites or for another skin reason. They are relatively quick and won’t cause much pain. It is A bit uncomfortable for them. My dog had to get one and he didn’t seem to care (but he is a lot bigger so it might be different for a hamster)
