Half of the cage being coconut soil is way too much. Hopefully it is 100% coconut fiber too - any additives to that would make it unsuitable as well, but you really need to remove a significant portion of that or your cage will end up having too much humidity which is a very bad thing with hamsters as they can end up with respiratory issues due to overly high humidity and such!

The temperature outside the cage being more stable would really be the best solution, so finding a safe solution outside the cage to keep temperatures at a safe and consistent temperature or temperature range would be a much better choice long term.
