I've just cleaned Freya's cage, and found an old bent nail, just over one inch long, which I think must have come from her bag of wood shavings; there certainly doesn't seem to be anywhere else it might have come from. It's not a brand I've bought before, but the only one that was available when I needed some. I'm glad I found it before it caused her any harm, but I'm just posting this now because I recall recently someone on the forum posting about something they had found in their substrate. Hopefully it's not a common occurrence - but has this happened to anyone else?
