No, don't use it. You don't want any bugs in your hamster's habitat. Give him torn up strips of plain white toilet paper for nesting material instead. They like that and its safe.

Rodipet does a snuggle moss which is considered to be safe and i have bought it but my hamsters don't like it much. In fact, one hamster chucked it out of his coconut.
