Yes he has about 5-6 inches of bedding in one side and 10 inches on the other side. I fed him a couple of times with my fingers and he took them. But he did bite one time, so I did a little more research and figured that I should probably let him adjust for a bit. So I've mostly just been sitting near his cage for an hour at night and reading to him so he gets used to my voice. He does seem a lot calmer now!

But sometimes, he climbs to the highest point in his cage, like on top of his house or platform, and stands up and looks at the lid. I feel like he wants to get out or something, which I found is characteristic of hamsters with too-small cages. I'm wondering if this means I have to get a larger tank, but the one I have right now is already nearly 700 sq inches.
