Have you thought of putting adverts out there yourself on the 2nd hand sites saying you are looking to adopt a hamster.

I've tried it's super hard in Ireland to get hamsters needing homes near me. They are all in Dublin which is many hours away from me and I don't drive so I wouldn't like to ask somebody to drive hours there and back. It really sucks but somehow always have bunnies and guinea pigs needing homes near me but never ever hamsters. I've always been looking even when I owned hamsters and never seen any.
