Oh yes they are. They are often compared to dogs because they are that smart. My boys knew their names, would come when called, go in the cage when told, spin, roll over, jump through hoops, they were litter trained for both pee and poop. They were amazing and very affectionate. Niklaus was very licky boy and would groom my arms and hands.
Siamese point, ruby eyed Dumbo rat (cream one with elephant ears) was my sweet boy Klaus
