It is very upsetting when you have been attacked on social media in the way this person responded. If you look at Lima’s link above I said on there that I had had a bad experience of that once - even though different circumstances - my account had been hacked by a troll. I am probably lucky in just not coming across these things as don’t use social media much. But I can understand it’s upsetting to see inappropriate hamster situations on these things and want to advise. I guess these people feel criticised because no-one likes to feel they have done something wrong. But despite her reaction I bet she took on board what you said.

I think the other suggestion of phrasing things factually was good - in Luna’s link. Avoiding “I” and “you”.
