The books you mentioned are something like I got when I got my first hamster 21 years ago, and even today it's still the same. The best advice you can get about any type of hamster is here at HC. All of us as owners will have made mistakes on what type of cage and size, toys, food, treats etc. Most pet shops /stores don't always give good advice when it comes to caring for your hamster. I've learnt so much over the years especially on here.
