Sometimes surgery is not a good idea as the impact of surgery on the hamster is worse than leaving the growth.

Also, I saw you mentioned that the growth doesn't have a 'stalk', but most growths are not external, they are under the skin or deeper, sometimes in the organs even.

A hamster can live with a growth or even multiple growths for many months without it being an issue.

Sadly, growths are extremely common in hamsters and I've had three hamsters so far who have had them.
It's stopped growing for the time being and doesn't affect her to be honest. By feeling it it feels like a lipoma (fatty lump) but that's only my opinion and if I didn't know any better. Id be really wary with surgery and it would be only if really necessary. Also then there's no guarantee that it won't come back. For the time being she's happy and otherwise healthy. I need to do their monthly weigh in though but she doesn't feel to have lost weight

Edit: I wasn't aware lumps were common. This is a first for me
