Hello everyone. My 17 yr old daughter and I are new hamster owners. Our little Cornbread came to us from a friend of my daughter's who got him from someone else, so I'm not sure how old he is or how well he's been treated. But I can tell he already loves us and is so sociable. I mean, I'm in love at this point. haha
I have a couple questions about his behavior:
1. We got him a new "bathroom" sandbox. He took right to it. Pees in the corners and cleans himself in the middle area. But, I'm puzzled that he always poos in his igloo nest. I have seen him actually throw the poo out the front door. It's hilarious to see, but it's also confusing why he also doesn't his 2s in the sandbox. Is this normal and/or can he be retrained to poo in the box too?
2. I've coined his new motto as "Always Be Escaping" lol. We have quite a few things for him to do in his new natural bin habitat, and try to change toys out but will he ever stop trying to escape?
