Default Re: Lambing Live (sort of)

Aw that’s nice to hear Maker. The lamb will need a few days before any improvement seen. This week has been a “lockdown special “. Some items needed from the vet including penicillin and a vaccine which all the lambs need to have (the penicillin is needed if a Ewe gets an infection but that can happen and OH needed some in. Farmers administer the meds themselves by injection.

As we’re self isolating we asked if the vets could drop it off. It’s only a small practice so they said no-one coming our way but they could send it by courier for a small fee. So we did that and it was supposed to arrive later the same day with the vaccine in an ice pack. Parcel never arrived. After three days the vet gave up chasing the courier and we had to ask someone to go and pick up more of the meds next day. At which point the parcel arrived! It only had to go 7 miles! Vaccine is now no good as ice pack had melted of course. More coming next week which will be fine.

All the meds then needed the bottles washing in soap and water before using in case they were contaminated.

A Ewe lambed in the barn last night as she started in the evening so OH didn’t want to leave her outside overnight.

More photos soon
