That is a lot, if you have a seed mix with sunflower seeds you can take those out when you feed him & keep them to hand feed as treats, you can do the same with other tasty bits in the mix too, a few extra wouldn't hurt but no more than two or three at most & try to vary things so he doesn't have them every day.
