Default Re: Rodipet easy clean terra ceramic house

I have this - it's not cheap but I can guarantee your hamster will build a nest in the front left compartment! And I don't think she'd be able to lift the lid - it's quite large and heavy. It comes with or without the terracotta plate but I like the version with the plate as it doubles up as a food dish, somewhere cool to sit in hot weather, and when lifted off, you can remove the toilet from the middle compartment without taking the whole roof off. That worked well for me until current Syrian, Moo who decided to pee in the right side instead of the middle (all our others have used the litter tray I put in the middle compartment).

It may be bigger than you want though. I also plastikoted mine so it's wipe clean.

I love the idea of the round terracotta houses but it would need to sit on the base of the cage with some substrate inside - so it couldn't be tunnelled under. I am not sure where she would decide to pee though. I like the idea of two of those joined with the pipe. I nearly went with that idea except as a syrian gets older, they need easy level access in and out of the house, which I find they have with the standard houses. I saw out the bottom of the round holes when a hamster gets old and doddery, to make an arch rather than a round hole so it's easier for them to walk through.

The granite top houses are also good and she certainly wouldn't be able to life the granite section (but may be able to lift the other section).

I really love the big labyrinth house though - the rooms are bigger than in all the other houses and they can build big cosy nests.
