They was I see it is there's 4 options for watering hamsters.
Essentially yes they're (the bottles) the same thing from what I've seen on the net. Obviously you could replace it that's be option one. I think I read somewhere about removing the one ball helping as the second helps create a tighter seal stopping it leaking? So potential option 2.
Option 3 is water bowl. If it works why not stick to it.
Option 4 for added water boost add in fruits like kiwi to help replenish water levels. (Not tried this one so not sure how effective it is).
Hamsters in the wild live on the edges of deserts and such where water isn't necessarily plentiful. Also they don't have bottles in the wild so they either drank out of a puddle or, more likely, ate things like fruits and bugs to get water.
