So I've had my winter white hybrid Nanuk , Countess of Argouges (AKA "Princess Fluffybum") since June and was told when I got her that she is a female. I never really payed much attention to her gender and she is quite fluffy so her private parts are covered by fur most of the time.

This morning I was reading up ways of telling the sex of one's dwarf hamster as I have a very young new one and I had Princess Fluffybum out so decided to compare her with the guidelines I had found and to my great surprise I found that she is most likely a he! The spacing between the anus and genitals is quite large and there is a fairly prominent scent gland higher up. I couldn't feel any nipples either.

His or her gender makes absolutely no difference to me but it did come as quite a shock!

A change of name to "Prince Fluffybum" might be in order.
