Exclamation Advice or information about condition?

Hi guys i havent posted in awhile, i got a syrian hamster for my Son who called her hampy, we loved her to bits she had such a personality, we made sure to take good care of her, she had the barney cage, a big enough wheel, apple sticks to chew on lots of bedding deep enough to burrow with cheap tissue paper and hay and suitable wood chip, she had cheerios as a healthy treat and was beginning to recognise her name, everything was perfect.

Until yesterday we had gone out to see relatives for the day, so we figured when he get back hampy would be up and awake like she normally was... Only she wasnt i dont know why but i suddenly had a really bad feeling like i wanted to check on her, usually when shes asleep i.dont really get that, so i put my Son to sleep in bed and carefuly take her out of her little wooden nest house, she was really floppy and just hugging me which is strange as usually shes full of energy so i take her with me into the lounge to not worry my Son, and her front and backside is completely soaked, she looked like she was covered in poo, but when i went to gently wipe it i realised it was blood, so i cleaned her up and hugged her to me in a blanket as she felt really cold, i was really panicking as it was 11pm nowhere was open. It was about half an hour later that i realised after a few chattery noises she wasnt breathing, she had died on me, she was 3 months old and my sons first pet, it Looked like the blood was coming from her bum, in the morning when i checked her wooden nest it was covered in blood, does anyone know what she could have died from?

She was full of energy the day before we really cant believe it, i did find one mouldy cheerio from where her water bottle had been leaking but it couldnt have been from one cheerio surely especially in one day? We were rushing as we were late in the morning and shes usually asleep then so we generally see her and clean her when she wakes up at night but i really cant believe this has happened and feel so guilty for not checking on her in the morning.
I'd really like to know what we did wrong?! Weve gotten her cremated as my son wanted the ashes but i think this has put him off hamsters now especially having to carry her back in a box and say goodbye just three months later 😭
Sorry this is long but i really grew attatched to her and would like any opinions on what she might have had? I didnt think it was wet tail as there was solid poos not diarrhea.
The pictures of her were taken literally the night before, she was a lively little thing
Any help would be greatly appreciated xx
