Simply go for the hamster you feel a connection with regardless of gender. There will be a particular one who "speaks" or appeals to you for whatever reason.

When i chose my Syrian at the pet shop he was first in the queue trying to get out of the shared tank and then he sat on my knee so there was no way i could have put him back again.

My Robo i adopted because he had been in the adoption centre for seven months and i couldn't get him out of my head for that reason. I hadn't seen him because he was always hidden under the wood chips.

My dwarf has issues which i noticed at the adoption centre so i took him home. My reasoning was that there are plenty of other hamsters more likely to get chosen than this one.

Can't wait to see the lucky girl or boy hamster who is going to move in with you.
