So she's a chewer In that case a cage isn't going to be any good either as she may chew through the plastic base. That does just leave you with glass tanks really. You can get second hand fish tanks quite cheap even if they look grungy and need a lot of cleaning up. In my area I have never been able to find any when looking.

I would think about getting one from Junglepets. They make custom tanks for hamsters that come with a ready made mesh lid. This is the largest one they do. It's a 4 foot tank but not very deep - on the other hand neither is the detolf. Costs £94.99 including the lid. They will do custom sizes though and give you a price for a tank whatever size you want. I think when I asked about a slightly larger size depth wise it was going to cost about £125. They will also leave out the glass shelves if you don't want them.
