Hi and welcome! The only requirement for a hamster parent is really being willing to do what they need to be safe and happy. Everything else is secondary. So you sound perfect for the job
As for advice, there are stickied threads at the top of each forum. Just have a read around, look at the Let's See Your Cages thread for idea on what setups we all have etc. This forum has been around for a while so there's probably not many questions on care that haven't been asked already! But if you want to run a plan for cages/food/bedding/enrichment past everybody feel very free to do so!
