It was an accident and you acted on a reflex, something which is out of our control. You didn't drop him on purpose.

My hamster bit me once and i was so stunned because it was so totally unexpected that i pulled my hand away quickly, luckily i was sitting down with him on my lap or i may have dropped him too without meaning to.
